Jennifer is an accredited music therapist, founder of Calgary-based JB Music Therapy and author of the book TUNE IN, detailing how music can help curb stress, boost morale and improve health. A highly regarded expert and trail-blazer in her field, Jennifer has been serving the Calgary community for over 20 years and is a regular presenter and keynote speaker at national conferences.
Jennifer is instrumental in the implementation of hundreds of music therapy programs through her well-established company JB Music Therapy – currently serving over 1800 clients a week through the efforts of her specialized team – 16 staff in total. She is the Past-President of the Canadian Association for Music Therapy and Resident Expert for Autism Today.
Jennifer has taught at the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University and is frequently interviewed on radio or television or quoted in health care and popular magazines including Chatelaine and Canadian Living. Avnish Mehta

Avnish is the Principal at Stand and Command, a Calgary based strategic consulting and presentation firm. Born and raised in Calgary, Avnish graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree that focused on Human Resources and Public Policy. Avnish had a successful career in the corporate sector as a currency trader, in the risk management industry, and then finally as an owner and operator of a recruitment company dedicated to recent post-secondary graduates from all across Canada. This experience, combined with his voluntary work, shifted his career towards the non-profit sector. He developed the Temporary Foreign Worker program at CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society) and subsequently help build a refugee health clinic located in Bridgeland. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Calgary Public Library Board, the Chair of the New Central Library Committee, the Vice President of the Alberta Library Trustees Association, the past Board Chair for Youthlink Publications Society, a non-profit group that focuses on children’s literacy, and a past Board member with the HR Council for the Non-profit Sector. Avnish also sits on the fundraising committee for the Calgary Folk Festival and this year, his company is proudly sponsoring the first ever “Great Spirit’ Aboriginal Series.

Jocelyne April, CAP-OM, began her administrative career in Saskatoon after completing the Secretarial/Accounting Diploma Program at the Saskatoon Business College. Marriage, family and economic growth led her to Calgary and later Edmonton where her career evolved from Clerical Assistant to management.  In her current role of Human Resources Coordinator for a Canadian employee-owned engineering firm with its head office in Edmonton, Jocelyne supports the General Manager, provides advice on office administration, and supports other business groups within the Edmonton operation. “This role keeps me busy” she says; “and every day offers a new challenge – or as I prefer to phrase it – a new “learning opportunity”. .  Jocelyne has served on many Boards/Committees, including: Human Resources Institute of Alberta –Selection Committee for the 2011 and 2013 Conference; IAAP – Past President, Western Canada Division.
