Insight Information, the leading provider of business conferences in Canada, is currently seeking Conference Developers to join their production team in Toronto.

The conference developer position is a multi-faceted role and a great fit for candidates with strong business acumen, robust research and analytics abilities, negotiations skills, as well as creativity (out of the box thinking) and the ability to write compelling copy.

This role will suit those who thrive in a high stress and deadline driven environment.

Major responsibilities are:

  • Identifying new and relevant conference ideas/concepts to serve high priority information and business needs of corporations
  • In-person and phone research with top industry executives to validate the business viability of these conference concepts
  • Translating research into compelling, relevant and must-attend conferences
  • Identifying and forecasting revenue streams for sponsorship and delegate sales
  • Recruiting recognizable industry names and subject matter experts as conference speakers
  • Creating content for conference agendas, brochures, websites and marketing campaigns
  • Identifying media and industry association partnerships to promote the conference
  • Developing strong relationships with industry professionals, regulators and service providers
  • Working with internal sales, marketing, operations and customer service teams to ensure flawless execution of the conference vision and plan
  • Attending and opening/ chairing conferences (this position requires some travel)

Desired Skills & Experience

Successful candidates must clearly present:

  • An undergraduate degree in any discipline (business, economics or journalism degrees preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task while managing tight deadlines
  • Understanding of general business principles, concepts and strategies
  • A strong understanding of the Canadian and US economies, financial markets, legal and regulatory environments, key drivers and pressures in major industry sectors (in-depth knowledge of specific industry verticals will be considered an asset)
  • 1- 2 years of sales or business development experience (preferred)

Account Executive – Conference Delegate Sales

Bring your business savvy, energy and sales ability then show us what you can do in this inside sales role!

Between managing client accounts within a territory and driving new business, you will be responsible for spearheading the acquisition of conference delegates through direct sales. Calling into multiple verticals within Fortune 1000 companies you will learn about their growth plans and identify opportunities.

You have a successful track record of meeting or exceeding quota with experience selling B2B solutions/services. You have a proven ability to actively identify and engage your clients through well-developed powers of persuasion and have maintained high standards of excellence throughout the entire sales cycle resulting in lucrative client relationships and referral business.

This is an amazing opportunity to develop and manage a portfolio of conferences and there is a pipeline of established clients waiting for the right sales executive able to maximize revenue generation.

You’ll have the full support of excellent marketing, production and operations teams behind you and will be expected to build out your territory, maintain solid relationships, and create a steady stream of future revenue.
