Dear Colleague:

Unconventional natural gas production from NE British Columbia represents a unique opportunity for Canada to further diversify its economy and establish itself as a significant, independent player in the North American natural gas industry.

The reserves in the ground are enormous by any standard and recent technological developments have made those reserves accessible in a way that is attracting major interest from industry. This Insight Information conference will explore what this potential is, what markets the gas can hope to penetrate, the policies B.C. is establishing to encourage development and the efforts that are being made and will need to be made to provide key infrastructure. The program will allow those who are already involved in the area the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in government policy, regulatory and judicial decisions affecting projects and infrastructure.

For those not yet active in the area, the conference will give a timely overview of all aspects of this exciting opportunity. For lawyers with clients operating in these areas, there will be an intensive workshop focusing on the legal issues that are prominent in N.E. B.C. development including the extent to which B.C. should be considered a distinct legal environment when it comes to developing its natural gas potential.

The conference sessions will give you an in-depth analysis of these issues and an opportunity to express your own points of view and network with your colleagues.

You will be able to address your questions to the speakers during each session or informally at break times. All attendees will receive conference materials, prepared by the speakers, which should be a lasting and valuable resource for you following the event.

Sincerely,
